In the streets of Amsterdam (Netherlands), the French chef Alain Caron is a star. He has been the ambassador of French cuisine in the Netherlands for almost 40 years. He runs four restaurants in Amsterdam, in which his love of France is also displayed in the decoration. Alain Caron arrived in the country out of love for a Dutch woman, and never left. Since then, he has combined his two favorite countries on the plate. "French cuisine, practiced by the Dutch, and reviewed and corrected by the French", he describes.

In addition to running his own restaurants, Café Caron and Petit Caron, he has appeared on Dutch television programs including Masterchef Nederland. He also has 14 cookbooks to his name.
